Uwezo fund Oversight board recently undertook a Sensitization programme in Ikolomani, Kakamega. Close to 1,000 participants from various Youth, women and persons with disabilities groups from the western region attended. The event was opened by Kakamega Governor Hon Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya
The Uwezo Fund Oversight Board held a breakfast meeting with Senior Editors and Journalist. The meeting is meant to sensitize Journalist about the fund as well as imparting the requisite knowledge on the fund. Uwezo fund would like to appreciate the Women, Youth and Persons with disability groups and the public at large who came to witness the cheque issuance in Roysambu Constituency. out of the Kshs 15 ,647,203 million allocated to Roysambu, Cheques totaling to Kshs 7.040,000 were issued to 78 groups who were successfully vetted by the area Constituency Uwezo fund Committee.Total number of applicants in Roysambu Constituency were 100 groups.

The Ministry of devolution and planning together with The Uwezo Fund Oversight Board undertook cheque issuance in Kajiado West County in the first official ceremony presided by Planning Principal Secretary Eng Peter Mangiti. Mr Mangiti issued cheques amounting to Ksh 68 million to various groups in Kajiado County from Uwezo fund, Ksh7.7 million from Women Enterprise Fund and another ksh12.8 million from Youth Enterprise Development Fund.
Mwingi Central Constituency Cheque issuance 3rd January, 2015
Eng Peter Mangiti, PS Planning, Ministry of Devolution and Planing and Hon. Joe Mutambu, MP Mwingi Central, holds a Uwezo Fund Cheque totalling Ksh 6.2 Million during the function in Mwingi Central.
The Uwezo Fund Oversight Board has held a meeting with all the Capacity Building Service Providers to review the progress of the trainings in the Constituencies. The meeting is earmarked to reflect on the TORS for service providers.
Uwezo Fund Oversight Board carried out a training from 23rd August 2015 to 5th September, 2015; to equip representatives of Constituency Uwezo Fund Management Committee members with requisite skills and competencies, as Trainer of Trainers, to effectively administer Uwezo Fund at the constituency level.
The topics covered included but not limited to:-Table banking concepts, Public procurement procedures and Access to Government Procurement Opportunities, Business Development services ( including a proposal for Uwezo business model),Skills in conducting effective (CUFMC) meetings, Basic skills in Leadership and Management, Business mentorship (constituency based businesses) and Monitoring and Evaluation strategies.
A total of 366 participants from 122 constituencies comprising of a youth representative, women representative and a persons with disability representative were trained
