Cabinet Secretary FCPA, Hon. Dr. Wycliffe A. Oparanya, EGH, during the 2024/2025 Performance contracting Ceremony
The Ministry of Co-operatives and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, under the stewardship of Cabinet Secretary FCPA, Hon. Dr. Wycliffe A. Oparanya, EGH, today hosted a Performance Contract Signing Ceremony for the State Department for MSME and it's Agencies (SAGAs).
This milestone event builds upon the earlier signing of performance contracts involving the President, the Cabinet Secretary, and Principal Secretaries (PSs) being cascaded to the agencies.
In his address, Dr. Oparanya hailed the ministry’s collaborative efforts and underscored the importance of teamwork.
CS emphasized that performance contracting is a vital mechanism to ensure ministries and agencies meet their commitments and deliver essential services effectively.
The CS reiterated the Ministry's dedication to operating within budgetary limits while advancing key projects.
He also urged stakeholders to intensify recruitment and sensitization efforts to maximize on the affirmative programmes aimed at empowering the communities.
Dr. Oparanya also highlighted upcoming flagship projects for the following year, including the NYOTA Project, focused on youth empowerment, and the KJET Project, among others.
Principal Secretary for the State Department of MSME Development, Susan Mangeni, stressed the importance of strategically positioning the Ministry through initiatives like the Hustler Fund as one of the President's flagship initiatives remains a priority.
She noted that the Fund’s credit scoring system enables beneficiaries to scale their ventures and transition seamlessly into other programs, such as the Uwezo Fund.
PS Mangeni called for a unified approach to outreach and sensitization efforts, ensuring alignment across events and programs.
She highlighted that a successful borrower under the Hustler Fund could progress to become a reliable participant in other financial empowerment initiatives.
The State Department for MSME Development remains committed to delivering on the Ministry’s agenda by empowering citizens and creating sustainable opportunities through flagship programs.
